Beer Belly Jellies
At tastings so many ask ‘how on earth did you come up with the concept of making beer jelly?’
Vancouver Island is where it started, regenerating in a craft brewery – a cheese board was ordered and there was a pale ale jelly! Delicious – such a unique taste and so velvety, it was tempting to lick the dish.
Back home, we experimented using New Zealand craft beer. Over thirty batches later, we got the consistency, colour and taste right!
We lovingly blend the best craft beers and apples New Zealand has to offer to bring you the unique taste of Beer Belly Jellies.
Making these craft beer jellies is an art – if you miss their fine sitting point, you’ve got honey! We make small batches to get the right set.
– Blonde is a lighter ale that reminds you of summer evenings sitting on the deck.
– PALE ALE has a grunty, complex taste, while MALT is dark and tastes like rich chocolate or coffee.
– HOT BELLY gives a mellow punch at the end for you lovers of chilli. They each partner perfectly with different types of food.
These craft beer jellies come in 70gm jars. We also do a 180gm or 300gm jar on request for catering purposes.
